DBT

Our DBT Groups are designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to manage your emotions, have healthy and enduring relationships, and to change unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving.

DBT is a skills focused group.  It is very helpful for people who experience relationships, behaviours, and emotions as if they were a rollercoaster – going from one extreme to another.  DBT helps people find their own individual balance between extremes, and to build a life that they find satisfying and worthwhile.

DBT focuses on four skill sets

A typical DBT Group involves weekly meetings where you will learn to find you own individual balance in your relationships, your emotions and your ability to tolerate distress as well as the ability to live your life in the present. Our specialist counsellors will provide a safe space for you to share your learning experience, and with their guidance you will build on the skills that will enable you to effectively cope with whatever life brings your way.

A person cannot fail in DBT.
